Auditions for summer jobs open to emerging artists

Ontario Musicians Co-operative Inc. (OMCI) is offering young, emerging artists a unique opportunity to work in the music industry this summer.  Musicians can apply to audition on Wednesday, March 11 from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Theatre Orangeville Rehearsal Hall.

The OMCI Summer Emerging Artists Program provides high-quality work experiences specifically geared to musicians, 16 to 30 years old. The program provides artist, performance, and skill development opportunities while enhancing participant knowledge of the music industry. Selected artists will help animate their communities by performing locally and may contribute to events held outside of the municipality throughout the summer.

The Orangeville Business Improvement Area and the Town of Orangeville have partnered with OMCI to offer this opportunity to young artists in our community.

OMCI is a membership-based, not-for-profit arts service organization dedicated to helping new generation and other independent artists build sustainable careers intersecting the music industry. Visit their website to learn more about the program and to register for an audition.
